From a statistics taken by Fortune Weekly against the teenagers’ expenses behaviors in Malaysia, there are about RM234 of pocket money on average given to the teenagers by their parents every month. Among them, more then 60% said that the largest potion of money will be allocated for foods and entertainments. I.e. foods and drinks (34.59%), entertainments – tours, KTV, Movies (18.05%), and luxury goods (11.65%).

Indeed, it’s not very hard to prove such statement, when you walk around the shopping centers, you can see our teenagers’ behaviors of expenses. Most of them prefer to keep pace with the pop stars’ trends and fashions. Furthermore, they prefer activities like chatting in café, shopping, watching movies in cinema, enjoy in KTV and etc. All these activities can’t get rid of spending money.

Nowadays, most of the parents especially for those stay in cities are busy on their works and business. They have even no time to spend on their children. Hence, for playing a role as parents, they try their best to fulfill the requirements from their children in terms of money. However, these would probably make things worse and even lead to a symptom of “Rich Child Poor Dad”.
